How big brands woke up to fast fashion’s environmental impact

In July 2018 adidas committed itself to using only recycled plastic by 2024.  It wasn’t the first company to do so, but it was one of the biggest to go on the record and underlined a strategy to commit itself to creating a sustainable supply chain through innovation.

adidas’ example is part of a wider story of how major apparel brands are waking up to the impact fast fashion is having on the environment.

This film heads to the small town of St. Gallen in Switzerland which has a rich history in textile production, it is here we discover a company which is using its tried and tested solution to water pollution to help the next generation of brands eradicate toxic chemicals from the garments they produce.

The result? Products that an increasingly socially and environmentally aware consumer is comfortable buying.
